Digital Bolex is joint venture between Bolex International, S.A. and Cinemeridian, Inc., founded in 2011 to develop the Digital Bolex project. Initial fundraising was accomplished through Kickstarter from March to April of 2012, raising more than $250,000 to build the first 100 cameras.
Joe has extensive experience providing strategic and financial direction to high-tech organizations. His fiscal, business and management expertise has guided several companies through leveraged buyouts and initial public offerings. Most recently, Joe held executive roles in several high tech start-ups including Photonami Inc., a telecom company, Mobile Computing Corporation, a wireless fleet management system company, and Drums Inc., an enterprise relationship software company.
Mike has 10 years of experience in managing Engineering and R & D groups. Previously, he was the General Manager of Photonami Inc., a telecommunications company and prior to that he was the Engineering Manager for CTI, a designer and manufacturer of microelectronic digital protective and monitoring devices used in industrial electrical systems. Mike has been involved in the successful development and implementation of many products and systems.
Elle has nearly ten years experience directing short film, web, and commercial content, and has been a Director of Photography for four feature films, including SXSW selections THAT GUY DICK MILLER and I AM DIVINE, and 2016’s SIX LOVE STORIES. She has spent more than fifteen years in web and user interface development, acting as a producer and game designer at a small virtual world for two years before joining the Digital Bolex team.
Joe has 7 years experience as a Director of Photography for independent films, and 6 years experience in start ups. He worked with engineers to develop the custom hardware and software solutions that turned Polite in Public Inc, his previous company, into one of the most successful photography based event marketing companies in the country. He has extensive experience with 16mm film.
Stelio is a P. Eng with over 15 years of industry experience in developing electronic solutions. He has managed numerous teams and is well-skilled in taking concepts and turning them into successful products. Previously, Stelio has worked in the telecom space at Photonami Inc, Corning, Nortel Networks. His roles included heading development teams for various products, sub-systems and automated production test systems.
Blaine has 25 years of experience in start-ups and turn-arounds in the private and public sectors. He has successfully led entrepreneurial ventures in the automobile, manufacturing, medical supply, telecom and investment industries. Blaine was previously with Whitecap Venture Partners. During his tenure at Whitecap, he was an Executive VP and led the Technology Practice, holding the role of “Entrepreneur in Residence”.
Cinemeridian has partnered with a number of companies to realize the greater goal of the Digital Bolex project, including Pomfort Gmbh, who are building our custom transcoding software, and Kish Optics, who are designing our custom lenses.
