On January 26th, 2016, Digital Bolex and Slamdance Film Festival partnered for the second year to present the Digital Bolex Fearless Filmmaking Showcase, a slate of 14 short films all shot on the Digital Bolex.
A mix of projects in all different tones and genres, the works represent the wide range in look at feel that the Digital Bolex provides each shoot, creating unique visuals that conform to the individual requirements of each film.
TRACKING ALEWIVES FOR THE PASSAMAQUODDY – Kurt Lancaster (USA)
2.6 million alewives used to spawn in the St. Croix River, but was blocked by the state of Maine in 1995–cutting off one of the major foodways of the Passamaquoddy Tribe. On May 1, 2013, the state opened the Grand Falls fishway, allowing for the passage of alewife migration–and raising the hopes of the Passamaquoddy Tribe.
